15 Months

In hopes to remember all the little things, I will attempt a monthly post of the baby haps' So Here we go! Age: 15 months Clothes: 18-24 month. 18 month clothes have been lasting a lot longer than I thought they were. Hopefully she will fit into some 24 month long sleeves this winter since we have a decent stash handed down and bought over Christmas. Even if she doesn't I’m sure they will fit for fall. Unless she has some crazy growth spurt! Shoes are size 5 for now. She likes to “put them away”. In Mommy’s closet with Mommy’s shoes <3 E has a slight sock obsession. And knows that they belong on her “toochies” (tootsies). She will try to put them on but has not been successful yet. Pro at taking them off though  especially in the car. Loves to wear her winter hats! Favorite Foods: Mac and Cheese, pomagrantes, grapes, little pizzas, peas, cheese, fishies, animal crackers Favorite Words: Mommy, Daddy, kitty, doggy, woof woof, Caliou?, ‘what’s this?’, bobby (happy) Favorite Activities: going down the slide grandma and grandpa got her for Christmas, climbing stairs, climbing sofas, climbing chairs… you get the idea. She also LOVES brushing her teeth. All I have to say is “let’s go brush your teeth” and she will run to the bathroom. Hide and seek with Daddy Favorite Things: her blankees, and a penguin (she likes to push his nose in and have mommy or daddy pop it out) Signature Moves: spinning in a circle, peek a boo (slaps her face with both hands over her eyes and holds them there for an extended period of time before we "find" her ) Proudest Moments: Fell off the chair onto her face, ouch! Till next month !

Looking forward to: a day off in the middle of the week for the 4th~!  and an extra plus?! my hubby has off!  Time to cross some things off our list!

I don't think I've mentioned this before.  Just something I want to remember and know I will probably forget.  Baby G is consistantly hanging out on my left side, so much so now that my belly is actually lopsided. It's kinda funny.  If I felt comfortable putting my bare belly all over the internet I would show you , but that's just not going to happen so you'll just have to visualize a lopsided belly.
Also this week, had my Dr. appointment.  Sent me to do an early glucose test, the test for Gestational Diabetes. Let's all keep our fingers crossed that the results are negative and my sugars behave themselves.  what prompted it a few weeks early is my "rapid weight gain".  I had a full on complete meltdown at the Dr.'s office.  For the record...I have been eating very balanced meals, and walking atleast 10 miles/week.  I have gained quite a bit of weight and am definately above the amount that "should" be gained at this point.  So I had the test a few days ago and I'm awaiting my results.  And PEOPLE this test is not as horrible as everyone makes it sound.  The drink tastes like flat sugary orange soda, it did not make me jittery or quesy nor did I have a major sugar crash after and need to take a nap.  I did not fast as it was not required for the 1 hour test.  I had a low carb dinner ( grilled chicken and salad)  and for breakfast (1 hour prior to test) I ate eggs with cheese and 2 slices of low cal multi grain bread with smart balance.  So... hopefully those are good signs?  We'll see and I will let you know.

It's a Girl!

When the hubs and I announced we were pregnant to our families we wanted to tell everyone at the same time and do something special.  So I got little chinese take out boxes at Michaels and in each one I wrote, "You're going to be an Aunt" or "Grandma".  So of course we had to do something special when we found out the sex of the baby.
We invited everyone one over for dinner the night we had the ultrasound. Luckily baby girl was cooporative for the ultrasound tech and we did indeed have something to announce.  We asked everyone to wear blue or pink, depending on if they thought baby g was a boy or a girl.
Unfortunatley Josh's Dad was in the hospital this day so we went straight to him and told him first.
We didn't make everyone wait too long, with pink balloons we announced it was a girl!

And then we celebrated with tacos and cupcakes, with pink frosting on the inside of course ;-)

Noah is especially excited for his cousin to arrive.

YAY! It's a girl!

18 weeks

Wow only 2 more weeks til we are half way there, that is just crazy to believe. And also very scary.  I guess we need to start tackling that list of stuff to get done before the baby gets here.
Other than major hip and back pain that landed me on the DL for the MS Walk on Sunday and the couch on Saturday, I ate horribly last week.  My body just does not like what I did to it last week, this weekend I just felt sick from all the crap I ate.  So lesson learned, everything in moderation.  I think I was eating more because I haven't gained in the past few weeks, well I gained 4 weeks worth of weight this week, I'd say I'm back on track.  Now back to a more balanced diet, since I don't think cookies and fries will make my baby big and strong.
The baby is the size of a green bell pepper this week.  For those who are more visual learners my Dad concocted an example of what the baby looks like now.
And here is my weekly picture.

How far along? 18 Weeks
Total weight gain: 17lbs yikes!!! gained those pounds that haven't been adding on in the past few weeks. I guess those cookies and french fries are catching up. Time to get more fruits and veggies in my diet :-)

17 Weeks

A funny thing happened this week.  I find it is good to have sense of humor when dealing with some of the symptoms of pregnancy.  For instance, I decided to get a salad at Burger King the other day.  Really wanted a double cheese burger, but thought we needed some veggies.  So got the salad, parked my car, chowed down on half of it and then threw it up.  Luckily I was able to grab a plastic bag in time, and I was parked.  I've become a professional thrower upper, so proud.  Along with my salad I also got a small french fry.  Which I downed immediately after the salad.  So lesson learned, more french fries less salads.  By the way, Burger King you need to change your french fries back to the way they were.  I'm very disappointed in the new type and will probably not go to your establishment anymore.  I have a feeling you would have gotten a lot of business from me in the coming months. Too bad so sad.
